Automatic/remember login with cookie (return to the last page)

Ok..why is it that I don't seem to see the automatic login working? I can have my collab site open, get an email from a task change or topic reply, click the link in the email, and it asks me to login again?

I got sick of that last page thing and removed that via a topic on this forum.

So now how do you get the PHPSESSID out of the URL and use cookies and such? I can't stand this anymore.

I run a phpBB site so I'd like it to remember my login like phpBB does.

**note that i found in another topic that the quote above about php 2.5b refers to "remember last login page" as opposed to remembering username/password.

the problem isn't cookies/remembering, the problem is the link in the email,

every one of them sends you to a login page instead of directly to the task,

why, why, why? the only thing i can imagine is their "not logged in" redirect to the login for the tasks isn't working
